Background:
He was not born to a rich family, nor to a poor one. When he was born, his parents abandoned him... was it fear, hatred, sadness or discontent with him that led them to do it. A hawk watched over him for the day he was stranded in the forest, alone. He was found by a group of nomads, moving into the outskirts of Detorn at the time, and raised to be one of them. He grew on his own within their tribe, unfamiliar with their ways and unable to speak a language. When he turned 8, he learned the common language and their customs, by that time, he learned how to fight from their hunters and was able to learn bits and pieces of magic from the Elder. When he turned 12, he was allowed to go out and hunt with the others at dawn, by the time it was dusk and he got back with the others, the tribe was killed, propped up and displayed on trees, unrecognizable. Those who killed them came back and attacked him and the hunters, the hawk he saw when he was a baby came to protect him and was hurt, he survived with minor wounds and cuts, and only very few of the others survived. It was a bloody massacre, but he was glad to survive. He parted ways with the remnants of the tribe and went off on his way to find his own place in this wretched world. At age 18, he decided to learn better ways to fight and to harness what little he knew of magic. He found his mentor not by searching, but by confronting any bandits in the area. He killed any who tried to stop him and eventually made it to their leader, who agreed to teach him what he knew. Within 2 years, he learned what he could from the man and parted ways with him, but before he left, his mentor swiped two fingers across his forehead and murmured a few silent words, his finger tips dimly glowed and he pulled away. He didnt know what his mentor did, nor did he tell him, he later found out his mentor could communicate with him through thought, something unheard of for him. When he reached the end of the forest of which he resided in for the past 2 years, he took a deep breath and thought to himself, Now my life ends, now my new life finally begins..., his hawk perched on his arm and his pet his head softly and walked out of the forest to start his own life.
